Yesterday (July 28), we reported about 13-year-old Gwen Mia going missing after she was dropped off at school on Monday morning.
After an anxious search that lasted more than a day, the teen was found safe and sound, though she’s said to be in a confused state.
Found after 33 hours
In a Facebook post by Gwen’s aunt Jaime Crystal, she wrote the family received news of the teen being found at 3pm yesterday, putting an end to a 33-hour search.
We are currently at the police station and have seen her briefly. She is still a little confused, but she is safe, and that is what matters most.
“Within less than an hour of sharing the news, Mia’s story went viral. The speed and reach of everyone’s help truly overwhelmed us,” she added.
Thanked those who helped
Jaime also extended her thanks to those who joined in the search for Gwen, such as the general public, police, the teachers and principal of Gwen’s secondary school, parents and students, clubs, associations, churches, friends, and strangers.
“We apologise for not naming each one personally, there are simply too many to mention. Your shares, prayers, and concern brought Mia back to us.
“This experience has shown us the goodness in so many people. Thank you for every prayer, every share, and every effort made on Mia’s behalf. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,” she wrote.
