We all know the feeling of relief when something valuable that was lost is safely returned.
Recently, a woman expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the honesty and dedication of Johor Immigration officers who helped reunite her with RM1,500 she had lost during her journey.
According to Mothership, the woman had been travelling by train on October 7 when she realised that her money had gone missing.
Unfortunately, by the time she noticed, she had already crossed into Singapore. In a panic, she reported the situation to the Singapore immigration officers.
As she retraced her steps, hoping to find the lost cash, the officers permitted her to return to the train and search for it.
Despite her efforts, she couldn’t locate the money. Left with few options, she was advised to file a police report.
Although the woman considered reporting the incident, she was pressed for time and reluctantly decided to give up hope of recovering the money.
However, before leaving, the Singapore immigration officers contacted their counterparts on the Johor side to inform them of the situation.
Much to her relief, the Johor Immigration team sprang into action.
Shortly after, they found the full amount and immediately got in touch with the woman, returning the money to her.
The woman’s daughter-in-law later took to Facebook to share the heartwarming story, praising the integrity and professionalism of the Johor Immigration officers.
The daughter-in-law’s post read:
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to a Johor Immigration Officer who demonstrated true honesty and dedication. My mother-in-law lost RM1,500 during her trip, and thanks to this officer, the money was found and returned to her.”
She went on to say that this act of kindness restored her faith in humanity, praising the officer for going above and beyond to help.
The officer’s professionalism, honesty, and sense of duty left a lasting impression on the family, and they couldn’t thank him enough for his efforts.
