We all have gone through times where we secretly wish that we could sit next to a handsome man or beautiful woman during a flight, even if they are complete strangers.
Unfortunately for this woman, she did get a flight companion…except that it was one that she least expected.
Waiting for Mr. Right
In a 1-minute 30-second TikTok video by @zarolzarif, it showed him and a few friends waiting to take off from Turkey.
One of them included a woman named Mak Som, who was seen sitting alone across the aisle.
For a good portion of the clip, Mak Som glances impatiently at the aisle to see who would be seated next to her on the plane.
A few handsome Turkish men were also seen making their way down the aisle, with each one raising her hopes in having either one of them as her companion even higher.
Not wanting to raise suspicion, Mak Som pretended to scroll her phone as she waited for one of the hunky dudes to sit next to her but with little success.
Got pet dog as companion instead
Eventually, Mak Som got her in-flight companion, which turned out to be a woman’s pet dog.
This obviously turned out to be a shock for Mak Som, who couldn’t help but to mutter “Aiyo!” under her breath upon realising that she would be stuck next to it for the whole flight.
Her facial reaction to her flight companion proved too much for her friends to handle, who erupted into gurgled laughter over her dashed dreams of sitting next to a handsome Turkish man.

The video has since amassed 2.4 million views and 196,000 likes at the time of writing, where netizens expressed sympathy for Mak Som’s predicament.
Others couldn’t stop laughing over how the entire situation went so awry.
