Flipping the concert script, Muhammad Syamuel Mahdini brought the graduation vibes by rocking in his robe at the year’s most epic concert, making everyone’s heads turn.
With a once-in-a-lifetime concert, there was no way he was missing the chance to flaunt his grad success!
Why a graduation robe?
Curiously asked about the spark behind wearing the graduation robe, Syamuel told WeirdKaya, “I just want to create some memories and make my graduation a little more special,” noting that he might never get the chance to do something like this again in the future.
Surprisingly, the robe wasn’t chosen for its comfort during a concert.
He confessed that he wore the robe solely for snapping memorable photos, clarifying that he didn’t actually wear it for the entire concert.
Syamuel only put on the graduation robe right before the concert started and just after it ended because he was sweating non-stop, even during the short time he wore it.
Everyone cheered him up
Who wouldn’t get a thrill seeing someone randomly strolling through the stadium in a graduation robe, right?
The response to his unconventional attire was a mix of cheers and congratulations from both friends and strangers.
While his family was fully supportive of the plan, our daring graduate was initially oblivious to the cheers around him.
“I heard a few cheers, but I didn’t think it was for me until my siblings told me. They said people were cheering, pointing, and congratulating me from their seats, but I had no idea,” Syamuel said.
The big question now is: how did he breeze through security checks?
Turns out, his cousin played a key role.
“My cousin brought the robe into her backpack, which contains a few of her personal belongings.” he explained.
The guards thoroughly checked her backpack, but they waved them through since they weren’t carrying any prohibited items.
He was showered with congratulations
As he rocked the graduation robe and snapped pictures, a wave of congratulations swept in from all directions.
To add an unexpected twist, some people revealed they were fellow USM alumni, turning the concert euphoria into a memorable experience.
