House break-in gone wrong

According to the statement, preliminary investigations found that the 40-year-old suspect and his accomplice broke into the home at around 5am yesterday (July 28) through a window which was forced open.

However, their intrusion caught the homekeeper’s attention, who subsequently got into a scuffle with the duo.

During the scuffle, the suspect collapsed at the scene while his accomplice managed to escape. The former was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Blocked heart artery cause of death

A post-mortem examination later determined that the cause of the suspect’s death was blocked coronary arteries, leading the case to be classified as a sudden death (SDR).

Despite the suspect’s passing, police are still probing the case under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a weapon or dangerous means.

They’re also working on identifying and tracking down the suspect’s accomplice.
