Three policemen were among six people arrested for allegedly robbing foreign nationals in two separate incidents in Kedah.
The incidents reportedly took place in Kodiang and Alor Star on June 27 and July 1.
Five suspects allegedly robbed six foreigners
According to NST, Kedah police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah said the first incident happened at a house in Padang Sera, Kodiang, at around 12.20am.
Five suspects wearing police vests allegedly approached a foreign national and his five housemates before entering the house.

The suspects then ordered the six victims to hand over their mobile phones and allegedly took RM1,750 in cash before leaving.
However, members of the Voluntary Patrol Scheme, also known as SRS, noticed the suspects behaving suspiciously and detained them.
They subsequently contacted the Kubang Pasu district police headquarters.
Two suspects were policemen stationed in Perlis
Police investigations found that two of the five suspects were policemen attached to a police station in Perlis. The remaining three suspects were civilians.
Adzli said one of the suspects had two previous records involving criminal and drug offences.
The five suspects were also believed to have been involved in two other robbery cases reported in Kodiang.
The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
Allegedly took earrings from Rohingya woman
A separate incident took place at a house in Jalan Langgar at around 1.40pm on July 1, with a 26-year-old policeman attached to the Kedah police headquarters allegedly visiting the home of a Rohingya family and introducing himself as a police officer.

He then demanded to see the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cards belonging to the victim, his wife and their three children.
According to Adzli, the policeman allegedly seized the victim’s mobile phone before removing a pair of gold earrings worn by the victim’s wife.
He later returned the family’s UNHCR cards and the mobile phone before leaving the scene on a motorcycle.
Arrested the following day
The policeman was arrested on July 2.
Police also recovered several items believed to have been stolen or used during the incident.
Investigations found that the suspect was also allegedly linked to another incident reported on June 30 at the Derga Jaya police housing area.
The case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.
