Former prime minister Najib Razak expressed his appreciation to those who remembered his birthday.
In a Facebook post today, Najib thanked the public for their prayers and birthday wishes.
Thank you for all the prayers and birthday wishes. I am deeply touched that there are still people who remember,” the post read.
He also prayed for everyone to remain under God’s protection and for their good wishes to be fulfilled.
The post was accompanied by a photo of Najib smiling while seated at a dining table.
Received thousands of reactions
At the time of writing, the post had received over 17,500 reactions and 2,500 comments.
Many Facebook users also left birthday wishes for the former prime minister in the comment section.
Najib was born on July 23, 1953, in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, and served as Malaysia’s sixth prime minister from 2009 to 2018.
He’s also currently serving six-year jail sentence at Kajang Prison after he was convicted of misappropriating RM42 million from SRC International.
