Taiwanese actress and singer Barbie Hsu, also known as Da S, has reportedly passed away at the age of 48.
According to reports, she traveled to Japan for a holiday but unfortunately contracted influenza that subsequently led to pneumonia.
Barbie Hsu’s younger sister, Dee Hsu, popularly known as Xiao S, expressed her grief, stating, “Thank you all for your concern! During the New Year holiday, our whole family traveled to Japan. My dearest and kindest sister unfortunately passed away due to influenza complicated by pneumonia.”
“I am grateful to have been her sister in this lifetime, to have cared for and accompanied each other. I will forever cherish and remember her! Safe journey! Love you always. Together, remember forever!”
Barbie Hsu gained widespread fame for her role as Shan Cai in the 2001 Taiwanese drama “Meteor Garden”, which was instrumental in popularizing Taiwanese dramas across Asia.
Throughout her career, she appeared in various television series and films, becoming a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
