Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, has been elected as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, being elected as the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong, effective from Jan 31, 2024, FMT reports.
Last month, Sultan Ibrahim expressed his willingness to perform duties for the country and the people.
Sultan Ibrahim presided over the 262nd Meeting of the Council of Rulers at the Istana Negara which took place from Wednesday.
