Whenever you go over to a friend’s house for a meetup or gathering, the last thing you’d expect is being asked to pay a fee before entering and leaving the premise.
An apartment in Subang Jaya took things up a notch by requiring visitors to hand over RM2 whenever they enter and exit the building—a move that left netizens in disbelief.
‘RM2 for entering and exiting?!’
The incident was brought to light in a Threads post by @mad_anass, it showed a QR code being pasted on the front entrance of the apartment building, where visitors can scan it and make payment.
It also featured a notice telling visitors that the apartment building management has “gone cashless”.

In the caption, the OP claimed that visitors have to cough up RM2 each time they enter and leave the building, meaning that they have to pay a total of RM4 at the end of each visit.
This unsurprisingly left him feeling dazed and leading him to question whether it was “normal” for the apartment building management to do this.
Reactions
In the comment section, netizens had plenty to say about the unusual entry and exit fee being imposed by the apartment building management.
‘If a visitor wants to stay overnight at my place, is it normal for them to pay RM10? Huhu.’

‘Even public toilets only charge RM1 weih.’

Meanwhile, a netizen urged residents of the apartment to lodge a complaint with the Commissioner of Building for charging visitors to enter and leave the premise.
