Abandoned hotels have long been a fixture of Malaysia’s paranormal scene, where they have been rumoured to be the stomping grounds of ghosts and spirits waiting to haunt the living.
A Singaporean woman was recently surprised to find that a hotel in Shah Alam which was listed on Agoda was actually an abandoned hotel, as shown in a viral TikTok video.
Abandoned hotel in Shah Alam still listed on Agoda
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Arielle said she was driving around Shah Alam when she drove past the abandoned hotel. Driven by curiosity, Arielle decided to explore the area further.
Upon reaching there, she was greeted by a severely dilapidated building where there no lights and the surrounding fence was torn down.
“I then took the opportunity to capture the moment by snapping pictures and recording videos of the hotel.
As I wanted to know how the hotel looked like in the past, I went to Google it and found that it was listed on Agoda with a 3-star rating and over 1,020 reviews,” she said.

In the comment section, several netizens reminisced on the times they spent at the now abandoned hotel.
‘I have broken fast there last time and had a Ramadan buffet there too.’
‘I did my practical (internship) there. It was closed for a long time already.’
