The 36-year-old pleaded guilty on Aug 17 to one charge of causing hurt.
Two other charges of trespassing with the intent to cause annoyance were taken into consideration for sentencing.
He was fined S$5,000, in default of 25 days’ jail, and has since paid the fine.
Entered home using old door password

Reported by Mothership, this incident happened on the night of 19 February 2023.
According to court documents, the man entered his ex girlfriend’s home by keying in the password to her electronic door lock.
He knew the password from when the pair were still dating.
He had gone to the unit to retrieve his PlayStation console after his ex girlfriend informed him that she intended to end their relationship.
Found another man playing video games
That night, his ex girlfriend had invited a male friend over to play video games.
When the man entered the home and saw the friend sitting on a sofa, he asked his ex girlfriend to explain why he was there.
She told him that the man was simply a friend who had come over to play video games.
However, he was apparently not satisfied with the explanation and began discussing the status of their relationship with his ex girlfriend, both inside and outside the unit.
He eventually left the home, but returned shortly afterwards.
Questioned man about relationship with ex girlfriend
After returning, he began questioning the male friend directly about his relationship with his ex girlfriend.
The friend did not respond to him, which caused the man to become increasingly agitated.
A physical altercation subsequently broke out.
During the fight, the man repeatedly punched the victim in the head, face and ribs.
He also pinned the victim down on the sofa and threw three punches towards his head.
The victim raised his arms to protect himself.
The man later picked up a plastic bar stool and threw it at the victim, hitting him.
He then left the house before returning once again to question the victim about his relationship with his ex girlfriend.
He eventually left the unit for the final time.
Victim suffered fractured thumb
At some point during the incident, the ex girlfriend called her mother for help.
Her mother then contacted the police and reported that her daughter’s ex boyfriend was causing a scene at the house.
The victim was subsequently taken to hospital.
He was diagnosed with a fractured left thumb, which had to be immobilised with a splint.
He also suffered bruising to his forehead, left elbow and left shoulder blade, as well as a superficial cut on one of his fingers.
Had previous offence involving fight
Court documents also stated that the man had a previous offence involving a fight with three people at a club in September 2022.
During that incident, he had punched, kicked and pushed a woman.6
