Sinkhole caused by underground tunnel works

In a Twitter post, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said that no casualties were reported in the 8.34pm incident and that traffic is still under control.

He added that investigations revealed that the sinkhole was believed to have been caused by the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) underground tunnel construction works.

KL-Karak Highway expected to reopen soon

In the latest update by Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman on Facebook, she wrote that repair works on the highway are almost complete and may be reopened to motorists by today.

“Repair works are almost done. If tests show that it’s safe and okay to use again, the highway can be reopened,” she said.

We’re glad no one was hurt by the incident and hopefully the highway will be safe to be used again soon!
