For some, soft toys are more than just mere objects. They are also lifelong companions and a way of remembering the ones who gave it to them.
This was certainly a case for a woman in Singapore, who is offering a huge reward to those who are able to locate her missing soft toys.
Toys went missing in early August
According to a Facebook post by the woman, the soft toys had gone missing between August 5 and 7.
Among some of the soft toys that had vanished were a large grey rabbit, a small white rabbit, and a grey hamster nestled in a cozy red strawberry pouch.
The post also listed several areas where she might have lost the toys, such as buses 165, 157, 25, 112, 14, and 238, the Hougang bus interchange, the bus stop outside the Japanese Association, and the bus stop after Ang Mo Kio MRT station exit A.
Other possible locations include The Venue Shoppes, Somerset 313, The Orchard Gateway, Suntec City, and Toa Payoh Hub.
SG woman offers RM34K for missing soft toys
Speaking to Mothership, the woman who wanted to be known as ZZ, said the missing soft toys belonged to her and her boyfriend and were their “babies”.
She said the toys have been with her for more than 10 years and she would bring them with her everywhere she goes, adding that the bigger rabbit was “like our ‘daughter'”.
Whenever we quarrel, the rabbit will be a ‘bridge’ to help divert us and calm us down [And] whenever I’m feeling down or having a cold war with my boyfriend, the rabbit is there to give me comfort.
ZZ revealed to Mothership that when she lost the soft toys, she and her boyfriend were “so devastated and unable to continue with [their] daily routine”.
She also said that her boyfriend has out out a S$10,000 (RM33925.01) reward for those who are able to find the soft toys.
“My boyfriend and I have searched bus interchanges, MRT stations, and shopping malls but we haven’t found anything.
“So my boyfriend believes that with the big reward amount, people will be more willing to help find the toys,” she said, adding that it wasn’t a scam tactic.
