A Singaporean man didn’t live to see the day where he would marry his fiancée after he lost his life in a road accident in Johor Bahru.
This comes after Joash Fung’s motorcycle was allegedly hit by two passing vehicles on Monday (Apr 20) at about 3am along the North-South Expressway in Kulai.
Died from internal bleeding
Fung’s father told Shin Min Daily News that his son had gone to Kuala Lumpur on his bike with eight friends on a three to four-day trip.

However, Fung left the trip earlier and travelled alone after he was asked to cover a work shift for his colleague at the car dealership where he worked.
According to Malaysian police, Fung was believed to have skidded and lost control of the motorcycle before he got hit by two passing vehicles.
He was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries
Fung’s father was later informed of the tragedy at about 5am and rushed all the way to JB, where he was told that his son broke several ribs which led to severe internal bleeding.

Fung was identified by his father by his helmet and clothing, and his body was brought back to Singapore, where a memorial service was held on Tuesday (Apr 21).
‘I’m now all alone’
Fung’s death left his family devastated, including his fiancée Lydia who was flying back from the U.S. when the tragedy occurred.
She told Shin Min that she only realised what had happened when she saw multiple missed calls and messages when she landed in Singapore.
We have been together for six years and were going to register our marriage next month. Now I’m all alone.

“We had also just moved into our Build-To-Order (BTO) flat three weeks prior,” she added.
Witnesses sought
Lydia also reiterated that Fung was a careful rider who neither sped nor ride his motorcycle when he was tired.
She and Fung’s father were told by Malaysian police that no CCTVs were present at the accident site, leading her to urge witnesses to come forward in providing evidence or dashcam footage to assist in investigations.
Our condolences to Fung’s family for their loss.
