Speaking to WeirdKaya, the OP spilled the beans, sharing that the coughing lift is located near his university’s performing arts music faculty at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).
When questioned about whether the uncle-coughing elevator act was a one-time thing, the OP wasn’t entirely sure.
He mentioned that the lift typically serves lecturers or students, hauling around heavy stuff to higher floors.

He said maybe because of the recent upgrade, possibly done about 5 or 6 months ago, unintentionally turning their everyday vertical journeys into a comedy show.
