KUALA KUBU BHARU – A 60-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to having unnatural sex with a goat behind his neighbor’s home at Kampung Sungai Buaya, Rawang in July.
Shaari Hasan was charged with the crime under Section 377 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine or whipping if convicted.
He initially pleaded guilty to the charge but later changed his tune when he was shown the exhibits, the green T-shirt and brown long pants that were allegedly seized by police.
When Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza asked whether the clothes belonged to him, Shaari answered “no” and pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him for the second time.
No bail was offered by Deputy public prosecutor Siti Khadijah Amir Hamdzah while Shaari’s counsel Zolazrai Zolkapli requested for the minimum amount.
New Straits Times previously reported that Shaari was caught in the act half-naked by the goat’s owner, a 45-year-old woman who had heard strange noises being made by the animal.
After replying that he was “doing a project”, Shaari then fled the scene, leaving the goat lifeless behind.
