A man in Sarawak decided to commit a bizarre act on a woman while at a mortuary hall in Sibu, Sarawak.
For his unsolicited stunt, he was ordered to pay RM3,000 in fines after he pleaded guilty to insulting the woman’s modesty.
Placed chicken wings on woman’s chest
According to China Press and The Borneo Post, the victim and her friend were at the mortuary hall located on Jalan Bukit Lima here at about 4am on Jan 18 to attend a ‘ngetas ulit’ (end of mourning period) ceremony.
While there, they were approached by the suspect, Awang Ganing, who then placed chicken wings on the victim’s chest before allegedly groping her.

Neither the victim nor her friend were acquainted with Awang, who left the scene after he got reprimanded by the victim.
Fined RM3,000 by court
A police report was later lodged by the victim as she felt traumatised, ashamed, and violated.
Awang was eventually arrested at about 2pm on Jan 23 and brought to the Sibu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (Jan 28).
In court, Awang, who was unrepresented, pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment of up to five years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

He was fined RM3,000 in default of three months’ imprisonment by Magistrate Romario Jonoi.
The fine was paid.
