Another one.
Just two days after the horrific acid attack on local footballer Faisal Halim in Kota Damansara last Sunday (May 5), another footballer found himself a target of unknown assailants in Johor.

The unfortunate incident took place in Pantai Lido, Johor Bahru yesterday (May 7), where the rear mirror of skipper Safiq Rahim was shattered with a hammer.

He added that two men appeared and approached his Honda City on a motorcycle, where the pillion rider suddenly brandished a hammer and struck the rear mirror with it.

After shattering the mirror, the men stopped and gestured the hammer towards Safiq, who had stopped the car after he was startled by the blow.

“I then reversed the car out of fear before the two men left the scene. The blow made my vehicle’s rear mirror to break,” he wrote in the police report lodged at the Larkin police station.

Safiq also wrote in the Instagram post’s caption that he never thought he would be attacked near the JDT Training Center and urged other footballers to be wary for their personal safety.

Meanwhile, Johor Baru South police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said police are currently tracking down the suspects.

The case is now being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage, reported Malay Mail.

Prior to Safiq, two other footballers were assaulted by unknown individuals, with one of them sustaining fourth-degree burns as a result:
