Starbucks is largely known for two things: coffee and its wide array of cute and beautifully designed tumblers.
Although it’s rather pleasing to the eyes, many often stop when they take a look at the price, where it usually ranges from RM200 onwards.

Told mum RM200 Starbucks tumbler was RM20
In a hilarious Facebook post by digital content creator Syukor Majid, he shared how his mother was “addicted” to buying Starbucks tumblers thanks to an innocent lie.
He wrote that he brought her to a Starbucks outlet and she was admiring the intricate designs of the tumblers.

When she asked how much it was, Majid lied to her and said that it was RM20, knowing full well that she wouldn’t want it if she found out it was actually RM200.
He then bought her one, thinking that it would put the matter to rest.
Addicted to buying tumblers
To his shock, Majid’s mother soon developed an “addiction” to buying a tumbler whenever she visited a Starbucks outlet as she was still under the impression that the price was RM20.

As a result of me not being honest, we will always have to bring a tumbler back whenever we go to Starbucks.
Majid also added that his mother is the proud owner of five Starbucks bottles, including the latest CNY edition which retails at RM198.

“Guess it’s time for me to tell her that the price isn’t RM20,” he joked.

‘Maybe she knew all along’
Majid’s post has since gone viral on Facebook, where it garnered 35,000 reactions and 2,500 comments.
Some confessed to having the same addiction in the comment section.

Others teased him for not telling his mum the truth in the first place.

One netizen speculated that Majid’s mother knew the real price all along but decided to feign ignorance in order to spend his money on Starbucks tumblers.

So adorable! Would you tell your parents the same kind of lie too? Let us know in the comments!
