With the cost of living steadily rising in recent years, it’s getting more and more difficult to find eateries that offer meals at affordable prices.
Even stalls that sell what’s commonly seen as “economical” are not immune from price hikes, like how one man in Penang found out for himself recently.
‘RM12 for this?’
In a photo shared to the Facebook group 槟城吹水站, it showed a packet of food which consisted of white rice, a piece of fried chicken, and curry sauce.

In the caption, he wrote that he was charged RM12 for the meal at a popular nasi campur stall in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
However, he couldn’t seem to wrap his head around the fact that the meal cost this much, leading him to question whether it was too expensive.
Reactions
As expected, there were a handful of netizens who were of the view that the man had been fleeced by the stall.

However, one netizen didn’t seem too sympathetic and chided the man for choosing to gripe about his meal online instead of clarifying the price on the spot with the stall.

Meanwhile, another jokingly said he was too scared to comment on the matter as he was afraid if he did so, he would be told by others to cook his meals at home.
