The government’s Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme officially kicked off yesterday (Aug 31), giving eligible Malaysians RM100 credit to help ease the burden of buying daily essentials.
Since the launch, Malaysians have started using the credit at supermarkets and convenience stores.
Despite some hiccups with the system on the first day, many managed to purchase their groceries successfully.
Spent it at a 99 Speedmart
Some even took to social media to share what they managed to bring home, showing how far the aid could stretch.
My husband and I managed to use the one-off SARA aid today at 99 Speedmart since there weren’t many people. It was so good! Thank you PMX!” One user share on Threads.

The user also proceed to ask everyone to share what they bought with the aid.
One month worth of groceries
The couple also mentioned that with the credit, they managed to buy a month’s worth of groceries.

Among the items bought with the SARA credit were three cartons of milk, one packs of Milo and Horlick powder, one loaf of bread, two packs of biscuits, a bag of rice, two large bottles of cooking oil, flour, instant noodle, and soy sauce.
