Outrage among netizens

The discovery sparked disappointment and outrage among netizens, with many questioning the organizers for allowing non-halal products to be sold at an event primarily catering to Muslim residents.

One netizen wrote, “Huh. Didn’t they declare all Ramadhan bazaars to be halal? What an irony! The name says ‘Ramadhan’ but pork is being sold. Doesn’t match.”

Another remarked, “Now no more Bazaar Ramadhan or bazaar raya, all just (the) same as normal pasar malam.”

Organizer takes action

After the viral incident, the Marsiling Constituency Office quickly took action upon receiving complaints about the stall.

In a Facebook post, the office confirmed their awareness of the non-compliance issue and stated that they had contacted the stall operator to cease the sale of pork products immediately.

The Marsiling Constituency Office also apologized for any inconvenience caused and pledged to prevent similar issues from happening again in the future. They urged the public to continue supporting their Ramadan bazaar as they work to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
