Monkeys are known for their clever antics, and a recent TikTok video posted by user @camiieeyy, also known as Syahmi, perfectly captures the mischievous nature of these intelligent creatures.
Just another “normal day in UKM”
The video, titled “Normal day in UKM,” showcases a monkey descending from an electric pole on a long cable in Kolej Burhanuddin Helmi, located in the hostel area of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
In the footage, other monkeys can be seen in the vicinity of the college building, adding to the amusing spectacle.
The video concludes with a snapshot of Syahmi’s room, which was orderly and cleaned up after the monkey’s unexpected visit.
‘UKM is always populated by monkeys’
Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, Syahmi recounted the incident that occurred after he returned from the law faculty the previous evening.
Finding the monkey’s descent unexpected, he couldn’t help but find the situation hilariously rare.
Syahmi shared that he regularly closes his windows and doors to prevent these crafty creatures from trespassing into his room.
He emphasised that UKM is populated by monkeys, especially in the evenings when they scour the area for food, resulting in littered trash cans.
Not the first time
The TikTok user also recalled a previous encounter when a monkey pilfered his dinner from his room.
He highlighted the scarcity of trash cans in the UKM vicinity, and even when available, the lids are typically closed.
Despite this, the monkeys demonstrate their intelligence by finding ways to open them. Syahmi warned people to be cautious as monkeys in the area have the tendency to be aggressive.
‘Is it training to be a firefighter?’
As of the time of writing, the TikTok video has garnered over 290k views. The comment section reflects the amusement of viewers, with some making light-hearted remarks about the monkey’s antics.
One comment jokingly suggested the monkey might be training to be a fireman, while others playfully speculated about its potential qualifications for joining the firefighter force.
