No Raya Bonuses For Civil Servants This Year, Says Anwar

It was given back in February.
Every year, most companies would hand out cash incentives or bonuses to employees during festive occasions not only to celebrate, but also to motivate workers to give their best at all times.

This time around however, civil servants in Malaysia will not be receiving the usual Raya bonuses from the government as they had already received a RM2,000 incentive back in February.

As reported by Sinar Harian, prime minister Anwar Ibrahim said the RM2,000 incentive handed out last month was intended to coincide with the Raya celebration.

The RM2,000 incentive I provided earlier this year was intended for Raya as well. That’s the good news.

“The RM2,000 incentive was also higher compared to the incentives given in previous years,” he said at a Ramadan bazaar at Mahkota Square, Kuantan, Pahang on Saturday (Mar 23).

Anwar also added that despite the absence of Raya bonuses, civil servants still have something to look forward to.

“In the coming months, we will be authorizing a retirement scheme and a salary increment for all civil servants.

As such, all civil servants are encouraged to manage their finances accordingly for the upcoming Raya celebration.
