‘Don’t Like? Move Elsewhere Then’, Johor Prince Tells Those Unhappy With New Weekend Rule

On Monday (Oct 7), we reported that Johor will officially be reverting its weekend to Saturday and Sunday next year, bringing an end to the current Friday-Saturday weekend arrangement which was practiced since 2014.

However, it seems that not everyone is thrilled with the new ruling, prompting the Regent of Johor Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibrahim to issue a sharp response in return.

Go elsewhere, Johor prince tells those unhappy with new weekend rule

In a Facebook post shared by Tunku Ismail yesterday (Oct 10), he wrote that the new weekend rule was made to fulfil the wishes of Johorians wanting to spend more time with their family.

He added that reverting back to the Saturday-Sunday weekend would also bring economical benefits for the state as it was in line “with the implementation of development projects that uplift the state of Johor”.

Tunku Ismail then turned his attention towards those who had grumbled against setting Saturday and Sunday as the weekend, writing:

If there are parties upset or dissatisfied due to personal agendas, want to provoke the Rakyat or have political interests, you are welcomed to move to states that still have Friday and Saturday as weekends.
