PETALING JAYA – Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s Facebook account was inundated with ‘Alhamdulillah’ (thank God) after Malaysia recorded 10,959 cases today.
Since the end of June, COVID-19 cases have largely skyrocketed, where it reached an all-time high of 24,599 cases on August 26.
Daily cases in Selangor dipped to 979 cases from Sunday’s 1,558, while Sabah also saw a drastic drop from 1,058 to 751.
Several other states that previously recorded more than 1,000 cases a day also showed promising signs, including Penang (793), Kedah (660), Kelantan (983) and Perak (713).
Following the good news, many grateful and relieved netizens expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and frontline staff for their efforts in curbing the pandemic.
Many netizens commented ‘Alhamdulillah’ under Dr Noor Hisham’s Facebook page.
However, the public was advised to stay at home if they have no urgent matters to attend to and continue adhering to existing SOPs set by the government to ensure that cases continue to decrease.
