There have been multiple instances of elderly drivers crashing into buildings and sometimes people while driving.
In yet another similar incident, an elderly driver drove his Perodua Myvi straight into a shop located at petrol station in Ipoh, leaving a trail of devastation behind as a result.

In a photo which has been circulating wildly on social media, it showed the aftermath of the gold Perodua Myvi ramming its way into the shop.

As seen from the photo, a massive glass panel was reduced to smithereens and pieces of debris lay scattered all across the floor.
Another photo showed a closer look of the extent of the damage caused, where glass fragments were seen spread on the floor and several cabinets and tables were totally demolished.

Sinar Harian reported that the accident took place at around 11.30am on Tuesday (Jan 7), where it involved a 77-year-old driver.
Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said preliminary investigations found that the vehicle lost control after hitting a speed bump, causing the driver to step on the gas pedal excessively by mistake.
“Neither the driver nor the customers sustained any injuries from the accident and only the front part of the vehicle was damaged.
“The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59) for failing to control the vehicle while driving,” he said.
Bercham assemblyperson Ong Boon Piow also paid a visit to the scene to survey the damage and urged others to be careful while driving.

This isn’t the first time elderly drivers have crashed their cars into buildings, with some even resulting in fatalities:
