Shop flooded with special event cups
Posted on XiaoHongShu, one of the part-time workers shared her working experience at a Chagee shop in PJ.
In the video, she shared that the shop is filled up with the special event cups, alongside long receipts hanging on the workers and all around the floor.
She also included a time lapse showing how all the workers worked nonstop, serving one cup of beverage after another.
Handling 600 cups altogether
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the netizen revealed that her work shift was initially scheduled from 12 PM to 8 PM with a one-hour lunch break. However, she had to work OT until midnight before finally getting a rest.
She also shared that after finishing a day’s work, her hands felt numb, making it almost impossible to scroll her phone like usual.
The netizen noted that the shop had implemented a comprehensive SOPs and minimized the menu to ensure smoother operations.
“However, there were just too many orders, and managing pickup and delivery arrangements was still quite confusing. But we managed to get through it,” she added.
She shared that during peak hour, they receive more than 600 cups of order.
When asked if she would take on a similar job offer again, she enthusiastically said yes.
“Although it was a very tiring day, I think it was a great experience. I would definitely try again if given the opportunity!”

A netizen shared that the Chagee promotion was highly successful, attracting a massive crowd to purchase their tea. Many expressed gratitude to the workers who tirelessly served the beverages.

Some also noted that Chagee is already quite advanced in terms of automation and standardized SOPs, but the overwhelming crowd made it challenging to handle.
“In Malaysia, Chagee is already a pioneer in automation, and their menu options are among the most minimal. I can’t imagine how other bubble tea brands would handle similar events. 😅”
