As Malaysia continues to grapple with the devastating floods affecting several states, the situation in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Perlis, Johor, and Perak remains critical.
According to Berita Harian, the number of flood victims has surged to 35,261 individuals, with 10,743 families caught in the aftermath.
In the midst of this crisis, a heart-rending video has gone viral, capturing the emotional moment a cat, trapped inside a flooded house, desperately clings to the window bars.
The Oyen was filmed grasping the metal bars of a louvre window, its eyes wide with hope as it gazed outside.
The floodwaters had clearly taken a toll, with the cat’s body slightly damp, suggesting it had battled the rising waters before finding temporary refuge.
The footage, shared on TikTok, @ahmad26_6, shows the cat’s desperation as it silently waited for help.
Luckily, a group of brave individuals, navigating the flood on a boat, noticed Oyen’s distress.
Upon seeing the cat’s pleading gaze, one of the men in the boat attempted to rescue the frightened feline, reaching through the window to offer a lifeline.
This video has since garnered over 1.9 million views with over four thousand comments.
“Please, someone rescue it… Don’t leave it there, poor thing.”
“Poor cat… it must have been clinging there for a long time. Its paws must hurt.”
“Poor Oyen… Please save the cat. They have lives too. Don’t just abandon them.”
