Malaysians may soon be able to apply for a 10-year passport for RM350.
According to the Federal Government Gazette dated June 3, 2026, the Fees (Passports and Visas) Order 1967 has been amended to include a new Malaysia Passport valid for 10 years.
10-year passport to cost RM350
Under the amendment, the 10-year Malaysia Passport will cost RM350 for most applicants.

However, the RM350 fee does not apply to those aged 60 and above, persons with disabilities aged 18 and above with a valid Kad OKU, and Immigration Department of Malaysia officers and staff.
For Malaysians aged 60 and above, the 10-year passport will cost RM175.
Meanwhile, persons with disabilities aged 18 and above who are registered under the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008 and hold a Kad OKU will be able to get it for free.
Immigration Department officers and staff will also be able to get the 10-year passport for free.
New passport comes with 94 security features
Besides the longer validity period, Malaysia’s new passport will also come with upgraded security features.
The new Malaysian passport will feature 94 security elements.

These features are meant to improve the security of the travel document and make it harder to forge or misuse.
The new passport is also expected to help strengthen identity verification at immigration checkpoints.
What is changing for students abroad?
The gazette also updates the wording for students abroad.
Previously, the order referred to students “studying abroad”.
It has now been changed to “studying for a degree programme abroad”.
This means the reduced passport-related fee category for students is now more specific to those pursuing a degree programme overseas.
Replacement fees for 5-year passports
The gazette also lists new replacement fees for 5-year passports that are lost or damaged.
For the first replacement, the fee is RM400 for Malaysians aged 13 to 59.

For those aged 60 and above, children aged 12 and below, students aged 21 and below studying for a degree programme abroad, and hajj pilgrims, the first replacement fee is RM300.
For persons under 18 with disabilities and a valid Kad OKU, the first replacement fee is RM200.
For the second replacement, the fee rises to RM700 for those aged 13 to 59.
For the third and subsequent replacement, the fee is RM1,200 for those aged 13 to 59.
Replacement fees for 10-year passports
For 10-year passports, the replacement fee due to loss or damage will be higher.
For the first replacement, Malaysians aged 18 to 59 will have to pay RM550.
Those aged 60 and above will pay RM375, while persons with disabilities above 18 and Immigration Department officers and staff will pay RM200.
For the second replacement, Malaysians aged 18 to 59 will pay RM850.
Those aged 60 and above will pay RM675, while persons with disabilities above 18 and Immigration Department officers and staff will pay RM500.
