Online trolls are rife on the Internet and would stop at nothing to trigger others with outlandish and sometimes downright false statements.
An Australian TikToker recently responded to an ‘Australian’ online troll who portrayed Malaysians as savages who feasted on cat and dog meat with a funny and perfect response.
Do M’sians eat cats and dogs?
In a 33-second TikTok clip posted by Sami three days ago, it showed a comment by an account named ‘Australia Number 1’ which read as follows:
All Malaysians eat cats and dogs. At least in Australia we eat real food like steaks, and meat pies and drink beer (which was misspelt as ‘bear’).
After jokingly acknowledging that the troll had ‘caught’ him, Sami proceeded to show an array of Malaysian dishes which featured animal meat in it such as ‘nasi anjing’, ‘roti kuching’, and ‘teh o katak’.
But rest assured, it was just nasi lemak, roti canai, and teh o’ ais being shown and no actual animals were harmed in its making.
Sami then proceeded to prove the online troll wrong by showing a montage of delicious food that can only be found in Malaysia such as maggi sup, lok lok, and Nyonya dishes.
Netizens amused by TikToker’s response
The clip has since garnered over 144,000 views at the time of writing along with thousands of comments from netizens who were tickled by Sami’s witty response.
Some wrote that the troll probably assumed that Malaysians ate cats and dogs after hearing that we eat ‘mata kuching’ (longan) and ‘anjing panas’ (hotdog).
Meanwhile, netizens couldn’t help but to ask the million-dollar question: how on earth do Australians drink bear as claimed by the troll?
