For most families, a trip to the zoo is about catching a glimpse of the wild side—tigers on the prowl, elephants trumpeting, and, of course, the king of the jungle roaring with pride.
But at Johor Zoo, the lions had a very different agenda in mind, and it wasn’t impressing the visitors. Instead, they were busy… catching up on some serious Z’s.
The Kings of the Jungle… or the Kings of Naps?
In a now-viral TikTok video shared by user Syariliza, she arrived at the lion enclosure expecting to see the majestic “king of the jungle” strutting around.
But what did she find? Two lions, not on the hunt, but on a snooze-fest!
One was in such a deep sleep that drool was dripping down its face (yes, even lions can’t escape the embarrassing nap drool), while the other was living the dream—flat on its back, limbs spread out, not a care in the world.
Majestic? Maybe not. Relatable? Absolutely.
‘They eat and sleep a lot’
The internet, as expected, had a field day with the footage.
One user commented, “I’ve been to Johor Zoo twice, and both times, the lions were just sleeping.”
Another chimed in, “They’re so full… alhamdulillah, Johor Zoo is awesome.”
And it didn’t stop there. “That’s why all the animals at Johor Zoo are so ‘fat’ because they eat and sleep a lot” another commenter joked, giving a new spin on why these lions looked so well-fed.
While some might have been disappointed by the lack of roaring and action, others couldn’t help but laugh at how the lions seemed to be living their best, laziest lives.
So, next time you head to Johor Zoo, don’t be too surprised if you catch the lions in yet another epic nap session.
After all, being the “king of the jungle” comes with a lot of responsibilities, but apparently, napping is at the top of the list.
