The narrative begins with a man clad in traditional white Muslim attire, known as ‘thobe’ or ‘jubah.’ Initially appearing normal, the confusion arises when the man lifts the thobe, revealing his knees—an unconventional sight at a mosque.

As the video unfolds, a group of women in hijab and Muslim attire, accompanied by a boy in a thobe, adds to the perplexity.

The confusion takes an amusing turn when a man sporting a tee and ‘kain pelikat’ or sarong, tucked his shirt inside the sarong, deviating from the usual practice.

However, the mystery starts to unravel as the video progresses. Several women in hijab are spotted taking selfies, bringing a sense of normalcy to the scene.

The plot thickens: Tattoos, selfies, and unconventional styles

The confusion takes an intriguing twist when a man adorned with tattoos dressed in black makes an appearance.

The video concludes with a group of families, including their son, and a bunch of women joyfully taking pictures with a selfie stick.

The revelation becomes clear – these individuals are tourists, not locals visiting the mosque for its religious significance, but rather as part of the attraction.

‘Something was not right’

Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, Shafickza revealed that the perplexing visitors captured in the video were none other than Koreans.

He recounted his initial confusion upon seeing the crowd, noting that something felt off as some of them were dressed impeccably, resembling ustadz and ustadzah (Muslim scholars).

This raised suspicions, as ustadz are not commonly seen engaging in extensive photo-taking. The peculiar cuteness and strangeness were amplified, especially among those who arrived in family groups.

“Something was not right because they dressed so proper like ustadz and ustadzah and they were taking lots of photos, and ustadz don’t do that,” Shafickza shared with WeirdKaya.

“This is not very normal,” he added, emphasising the contrast between the formal attire and the seemingly unconventional behaviour.

‘Looks exactly like a Malaysian uncle’

Since its posting, the video has garnered a whopping 478k views, captivating the online audience.
