Alright everyone we’ve got a tale to tell – or should we say, a whale of a tale!
A Malaysian woman has shared a recipe that might seem normal at first glance, but it’s far from ordinary. She spilled the beans on how to cook Whale Meat.

Cooking and eating shark is something we’ve heard of before, but whale meat? Now, that’s uncommon here.
Whale Meat – Berlado Style
On her TikTok account, @kakaknorway.official, she not only expressed a sudden craving for fish but also generously shared the recipe for cooking whale meat.
“Hmm… What to cook, I wonder? Maybe fish. It’s been a while since I had fish,” she wrote, mentioning that she came across whale meat when she went out for her grocery shopping.

In her caption, she revealed that she has actually cooked whale meat before, infusing it with a Malaysian touch—either “Masak Lemak Cili Api” or “Berlado.”
“There are Malaysians in Norway who make whale rendang, and some have even made whale curry.” she explained.
In the nearly 2-minute-long video, Kakak Norway meticulously walked through the process of cleaning the whale meat, prepping it, and demonstrating how to cook it.

Despite the mouthwatering appearance, the realization that it’s whale meat adds a unique twist to the culinary adventure. Oh well…

The video has racked up over 374.1k views as of the time of writing, and the comments section is basically a virtual aquarium of confused and curious netizens.
Netizens were brimming with curiosity
One of the netizens, curious about the taste of the meat, asked her, and she replied that it tastes like the flavor of beef liver.

Following that, another TikTok user asked, “Isn’t whale a endangered species?” Kakak Norway replied, saying, “This one is a domestically raised whale.”

Another TikTok user jumped in, jokingly saying, “Pregnant women, steer clear of this video…haha, where am I supposed to find whale meat?” She replied saying, “No worries, they sell it in Malaysia. Spotted it at Midvalley and Gardens.”

Also, a curious individual asked, “Oh, does its meat resemble beef or is it more like fish?” Some users chimed in, explaining, “Because whales have land mammal origins, that’s why their meat looks more like beef than fish.”

As this video continues to make waves (pun intended), we’re left with one burning question – are you up for the challenge?
