Yesterday (Sept 3) was a memorable day for Malaysia as our shuttler, Cheah Liek Hou, secured the nation’s first gold medal in the Paris Paralympics.
He achieved this remarkable feat by successfully defending his title in the men’s singles SU5 (upper body impairment).
According to The Star, Liek Hou triumphed once again, defeating Indonesia’s Suryo Nugroho at the Adidas Arena in Port de la Chapelle with a score of 21-13, 21-15.
As the nation celebrated, Liek Hou was visibly overjoyed, basking in the triumph of his well-earned victory.
Winning gold is no small feat, and his excitement was evident as he embraced the moment.
In a now-viral TikTok video, Liek Hou can be seen excitedly running around the stadium with the Jalur Gemilang.
What made the moment even more amusing was that he was caught on camera mid-celebration while other players were still actively competing in their matches, battling it out for points.
The cute and amusing sight was shared by user @ms.kimcherry and quickly went viral.
