As drivers, the one thing we can ALL agree on is that those who simply can’t be bothered to use their signal lights when switching lanes is one of the most annoying and dangerous things ever.
A local YouTuber named Bryson Lew recently expressed the collective frustration of Malaysian drivers who face this issue with a cheeky music video which called out those who don’t use their signal and begged them to do so for the safety of others.
M’sian YouTuber roasts drivers who don’t use their signal with catchy song
Simply titled ‘The Signal Song’, the 2-minute YouTube clip featured Bryson driving on the road when a blue car suddenly cut into his lane without turning on the signal light, causing him to say (or sing) a phrase commonly used by irate Malaysian drivers:
Do you think this road belongs to your father?
Aside from (rightfully) raging at such drivers, Bryson also sarcastically commented that not using the signal doesn’t mean that one is a better driver. Rather, it poses a danger to other motorists and causes accidents too.
“Using the turn signal is the most basic communication between vehicles. Is it so hard to say you’re turning beforehand? Just think about others on the road, okay?”
The music video also featured several Malaysian drivers posing with their car’s signal lights turned on to show how easy it is to do so.
‘Make this tune compulsory!’
A shorter version of the music video was later shared to Bryson’s Instagram account, where it was widely welcomed by netizens.
Many also added that the song should be blasted on radio stations frequently and used as the official training material for those learning how to drive.
