M’sian Woman’s Perodua Bezza Spoilt 8 Hours After She Bought It

Sugar was said to be the culprit, which she denied using it to tamper with the engine.
Buying a new car is the ultimate dream for anyone as it marks the start of them being able to own their own transport. However, it also comes with a huge financial burden as well.

A woman recently took to Facebook to share her devastation over buying a Perodua Bezza, only to have it spoilt merely 8 hours later.

Perodua Bezza spoilt 8 hours after she bought it

According to the Facebook post by Nagakanni Subramaniam, she wrote that she bought a Perodua Bezza 1.3 X from a car dealership named Harapan Terang Motor Sdn Bhd in Segamat, Johor, at 11am on Oct 17 last year.

To her horror, the engine wouldn’t start when she tried to drive the car at 7.40pm that day, marking the end of her extremely short 8-hour ownership of the car.

One of the photos also showed that during those brief 8 hours, Nagakanni only managed to drive the Perodua Bezza for a total of 46km.

The next day, her car was towed to the Perodua Segamat Service Center when the mechanic told her the engine was damaged.

On the same day, she also requested that Perodua replace her with another car but was asked to wait for an official decision from its headquarters, which would take up to two weeks to a month.

Sugar behind the engine’s damage

On Nov 9, a Customer Sales Executive from Perodua’s HQ named Sufian informed Nagakanni that based on initial investigations, the car engine was damaged due to the presence of foreign materials like sugar.

This left her deeply puzzled by the diagnosis, where she claimed she didn’t bring any food or sugar into the car during the 8 hours of owning the car, let alone tamper with the engine.

On top of that, Nagakanni said Sufian told her she needed to apply for another loan on the car. However, she told him she couldn’t do so as she was still paying off the existing loan, which cost her RM537 per month.

She was further pressured to apply for a second loan from a salesperson from the car dealership where she bought the Perodua Bezza, where she was asked to provide the necessary documents. Again, she declined.

No response from Perodua for months

On December 8, Perodua’s Customer Service told Nagakanni that the final proposal was yet to be approved and that they were still investigating for “internal errors”, meaning that they couldn’t provide official documents to approve replacing her car.

As of yesterday (Jan 2), Nagakanni said she has yet to hear back from Perodua more than two months since her ordeal first began and is still paying back the loan for the car.

She has also lodged a police report over her car in hopes of being given justice in her case.
