If you’re a parent, you’d know how frustrating it is to teach your kids to do what’s expected of them such as schoolwork.
A woman was forced to resort to drastic measures after her son was found to consistently skip out on finishing his schoolwork, much to her chagrin.
M’sian woman takes son to police station over unfinished schoolwork
Speaking to Sinar Harian, the mother named Nor Syuhada Mohd Zahri, said her 11-year-old son often claimed to have completed his schoolwork whenever she asked him about it.
To her dismay, it wasn’t the case at all after his teacher revealed to her that he had not been doing his schoolwork at all.

“I was shocked when the class teacher told me this. When I asked my son about it at home, he insisted that he had finished it at school. I didn’t want to make a fuss, so I took my son directly to the nearest police station to give him a little fright.
“I brought him to the officer on duty and pretended that I was handing him over for not doing his homework. At that moment, the police understood the situation and played along,” she said.
Traumitised by police encounter
Nor Syuhada added that during her son’s ‘detention’, the police officer pretended to scold him for his actions and even threatened to put him in a holding cell if he did it again in the future.

“The officer asked a lot of questions and interrogated my son to frighten him. Some even showed him handcuffs and took him to see the police car.
What really brought my son to his senses was when he was shown the holding cell. He cried and apologised repeatedly,” she said.
Thankfully, Nor Syuhada’s son finally saw the error of his ways and began to show a change in behavior by completing his schoolwork on time.

She also thanked the officers for “playing along” in teaching her son a lesson, adding that he had promised to not repeat the same mistake again.
