A local woman recently turned heads and sent tongues wagging after a video of her speaking in a rather deep voice that is usually associated with men created a buzz among netizens, who couldn’t believe that it was actually her real voice.
M’sian woman surprises netizens with naturally deep voice
In a TikTok video shared by a woman named Harszan, she was responding to a netizen’s query about her voice, which was unexpectedly deep for a woman to have.
In the clip, she said that she doesn’t use a voice changer to alter the tone of her voice and that it’s 100% natural.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the 21-year-old property agent said her voice often tends to catch people off guard, often leaving them staring at her in confusion or surprise.
Some have even asked me if I’m a girl or a boy too,” she said.
Harszan added that her voice changed into a deeper tone after she hit puberty and it got hoarser and more “masculine” after she turned 18.
“Plus, I’m someone who loves to sing high-pitched and rock songs since I was kid. So I guess maybe that’s what could have led me to have a deeper voice,” she said.
Netizens still doubtful
Despite Harszan’s explanation, a handful of netizens still didn’t fully believe her and insisted that she was using a voice changer.
‘This isn’t her voice right? Is she is using a voice changer? I’m so curious.’
‘Just be honest and say you’re using the voice changer.’
Some remarked that Harszan’s unusually masculine voice as ‘handsome.’
‘The voice is so handsome. If (we were) on call, it’s as if (I’m) talking to a man.’
