In a world where ordering food online or in-person has become a daily routine for many, a recent incident involving a Malaysian woman’s simple request, named Mayah for a dish turned into a humorous yet frustrating experience, garnering significant attention on social media.
The woman, known by her TikTok username @panipuri_no1_di_Malaysia, shared her story in a video that has since gone viral, amassing over 237,000 views.
Unexpected outcome: The surprising egg separation
Her request was straightforward: extra spicy fried rice with “telur mata” (a sunny-side-up egg) served separately, along with Nescafe, all for takeout. However, the reality of what she received left her speechless and bewildered.
In her video, she showcased the fried rice accompanied by a fried egg.
But this was no ordinary fried egg; the yolk was completely separated from the white, leading her to question,
“I’m speechless. What is this?”
Mayah expressed her confusion and frustration, noting that she specifically requested the egg to be served separately, not to have the egg and yolk separated.
The emotional rollercoaster
The situation escalated as she humorously questioned the cook’s qualifications, half-jokingly suggesting that the mix-up might send her to the Tanjung Rambutan Psych Ward.
“Who gives this person a licence to be a cook?”
“Soon, i will become mental. Oh, your plan is to send me to Tanjung Rambutan Psych Ward, right? If i get admitted there, then who will cook Panipuri?”
She further lamented the potential impact on her own business as a Panipuri seller, playfully worrying about her customers who are addicted to her Panipuri.
Speaking to Weirdkaya, Mayah said that she did not, however, contact the restaurant after the incident. Citing that she has accepted it as it was.
‘That was very unexpected’
The comment section of the video echoed her sentiments, with many viewers finding the situation amusing and sharing in her disbelief at the unexpected interpretation of her order.
Well, at this point, we have to egg-plain very, very specific of the order that we want.
