A Malaysian woman has taken to Threads to express her frustration over an intern at her workplace who allegedly arrived late, missed deadlines and spent hours talking to her boyfriend during office hours.
According to the woman, the intern’s behaviour had become increasingly difficult to ignore despite repeated reminders from the company.
Arrived more than an hour late
According to mStar, the woman said the intern was supposed to report to work at 9am. However, she claimed the intern would usually arrive at around 9.15am.
Things allegedly became worse on one particular day when the intern only showed up at 10.30am.

Allegedly spent hours calling her boyfriend
Aside from arriving late, the intern was also accused of spending a significant amount of time talking to her boyfriend instead of focusing on her work.
The woman claimed the intern would sit at her desk and remain on the phone for hours during office hours.
“Then she just sits at her desk and talks on the phone with her boyfriend for hours,” she said.
The woman added that the company had only assigned the intern a simple task, which was to produce a video.
Despite being informed of the deadline, the intern allegedly failed to complete it even after the deadline had passed.
“We gave her a simple task, which was to make a video. We already informed her about the deadline, but it still wasn’t completed even after the deadline had passed,” she wrote.
The woman then questioned how the intern would cope with a full time job if her attitude was already poor during her internship.
“Her attitude is already this bad as an intern. Just imagine what she will be like when she starts working full time.”
Company allegedly reminded her multiple times
Anticipating that others might accuse the company of failing to guide the intern, the woman stressed that the intern had already been reminded and reprimanded several times.

She claimed the intern would simply nod whenever she was spoken to, but no progress would be made afterwards.
“Don’t say that we never advised her. We have spoken to her many times and reminded her countless times about the task,” she wrote.
“She just nods, but there is still no progress. We have even reprimanded her, but nothing seems to work.”
At the end of the day, an internship is still a chance to learn, but showing up and putting in effort should be the bare minimum.
