Taking to her X account, @alwanijohan shared her frustration, expressing dissatisfaction with the decision took by her boss.
In her tweet, she explained that she applied for annual leave and, during this period, she was also running her part-time business while on holiday.
“Someone from the office came across my social media story, went so far as to screen-record it, and sent it to the boss. Subsequently, the boss called me and terminated my employment on the spot,” she stated, expressing disbelief and deeming the situation as insane.
She also questioned the fundamental notion that annual leave is a right for employees, expressing, “Isn’t it the employee’s right to decide whether they want to take leave, rest, or pursue part-time work?”
Furthermore, she highlighted the abrupt termination, emphasizing the lack of prior notice.
“What’s more, they immediately terminated me without any notice.” she wrote.
In a subsequent tweet following her post, she recounted that when she inquired about her right to claim compensation due to the lack of notice, the response she received was, “Oh, we don’t know because we’ve never encountered a problematic staff like this before.”
Colleague sent screenshots tp her boss
In her tweet, she disclosed that her colleagues, aware of her situation, took screenshots of her social media stories, even though she refrained from adding or following them due to their nosiness. However, this eventually resulted in a confrontation with her boss and immediate termination.
