We all understand splitting bills with family or loved ones when it comes to big expenses—but a marriage where you split the bill over a snack?
A Malaysian woman recently vented on social media about her husband’s extreme stinginess, revealing that they split the cost of everything—even a RM6 pisang goreng (fried bananas) meant for his parents.
In her anonymous post, she explained that despite being married for eight years and having a child, her husband insists on splitting all expenses equally.
This includes even the smallest items like snacks.
She shared that her husband earns RM2,000 more than her but only gives her RM400 in nafkah (financial support), most of which goes towards their child.
On top of that, he keeps a list of what she owes him whenever she can’t pay upfront.
The post has gone viral, sparking shock and outrage online.
Many compare the couple’s relationship to housemates, suggesting that even housemates don’t go so far as to split the cost of pisang goreng.
Another commented, “Can’t believe she stayed for 8 years,” expressing shock that the wife put up with this behavior for such a long time.
