Ordering food through online platforms can sometimes prove risky as there’s a chance of us receiving something we didn’t ask for or worse still, food that’s considered to be unclean according to one’s religion.
A woman had a close call after she received food that contained pork inside, an ingredient that’s deemed as ‘haram’ (illegal) for Muslims like herself.
M’sian woman orders chicken rice for family, gets pork instead
In an 18-second clip shared on TikTok by @nuradelina.lyn, it showed her uncovering the contents of the food she ordered via an online platform, which turned out to be way different than what she expected.

Upon receiving her food order, she proceeded to unwrap it, only to be shocked upon seeing several slices of roasted pork sitting on top of the rice.
Thankfully, she was able to detect that something was terribly wrong before she and her family consumed the food.
She later revealed what she had actually ordered on the platform, which was supposed to be two packets of roasted chicken rice, and a packet of curry noodles.

At one point of the clip, she is seen returning the food to the rider who had delivered it to her home.
In the comment section, the woman said she didn’t blame the shop for the blunder, but blamed herself for not doing a background check on the shop before placing her order.
Netizens stunned by mistake
In the comment section, netizens expressed relief over the fact that the woman was able to detect the pork in her food before it was eaten.
‘Uishhh….if I was the one to see this, I’d think it was chicken thigh. So dangerous!’

‘Good thing your kids weren’t the ones to receive the order. If not, they would have eaten it already.’

Meanwhile, another reminded others to always be careful when ordering food online as some Malay-sounding shops are actually operated by non-Muslims.
