A married woman in Melaka reportedly decided to spice things up with another man during her husband’s absence, who is currently languishing in jail.
Unfortunately, their rendezvous was thwarted by the religious authorities following a raid which saw the duo getting arrested for ‘khalwat’ (close proximity).
Caught being in the same house
According to Sinar Harian, the raid took place at a house in Batu Berendam last Friday (June 5) following a public complaint at around 12.30am.

Melaka Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) director Datuk Md Azhan Samat said officers found a 36-year-old woman in the house, while the man was found hiding inside a wardrobe located on the upper floor.
He added that investigations found the man is single, while the woman is married to a man who is currently serving a prison sentence.
The pair also failed to produce documents proving they were married to each other or shared a mahram (close family) relationship.

They were subsequently taken to JAIM ‘s office for documentation and further investigation under Section 53 of the Melaka Syariah Offences Enactment 1991, which carries a fine of up to RM3,000, imprisonment of up to 2 years, or both if convicted.
