M’sian Woman Loses RM3.5mil After Burglars Steal Safe From Her House

Massive loss.
Aside from keeping one’s money at the bank, some may opt to store their cash and valuables inside a safe as it requires one to key in the password before gaining access to it.

Unfortunately for a local businesswoman, a safe became her financial undoing after a group of burglars broke into her home and ran off with a safe containing items worth millions of Ringgit.

M’sian woman loses RM3.5mil after burglars steal safe

According to a statement by Wangsa Maju police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, he said the victim was businesswoman who had her home located at Padang Balang, Kuala Lumpur, broken in to on Sunday (Mar 3).

Following the break-in, she lodged a police report at around 10pm, reported NST.

Based on our investigations, the safe had gold bars and cash worth RM3 million stored inside, all of which were taken by the burglars.

“The burglars also fled with several luxury handbags and valuables belonging to the victim and her family, bringing the total losses to an estimated value of RM3.5 million,” he said.

Ashari added that the burglars also disabled the closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) system before robbing the victim’s home and making off with the stolen items.

Police are probing the case under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house-breaking at night and urged those with further information to contact the Wangsa Maju police headquarters at 03-9289922, the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-21159999 or the nearest police station

We hope the victim will be able to recoup her massive financial loss and that the burglars will be caught soon!
