With Chinese New Year (CNY) slightly more than a week away, the risk of being robbed in broad daylight is getting higher as thieves are constantly looking to rob those who have withdrawn huge amounts of cash from the bank.
A woman paid a hefty price for her carelessness after she was seen leaving her house gate wide open after retuning from the bank, resulting in her getting robbed.
M’sian woman gets robbed as she forgot to close the gate
In a 2-minute clip uploaded to the Facebook page FB/关丹台 Kuantan Complaint King on Wednesday (Jan 31), it showed the woman driving into the front porch of her house.
Instead of closing the front gate immediately, the woman proceeded to hang her clothes on the rack.
Moments later, a white Myvi appeared in front of her house and a man clad in a black t-shirt and shorts is seen making his way to her car, where he brazenly opened the car door and took an envelope of cash.
When the woman finally realised what was going on, she tried to stop the robber from leaving but was unable to.
In the end, all she could do was watch the robber speed away while her two young children looked on in horror.
According to the video caption, the incident took place in Mentakab, Pahang, and the woman had just returned from the bank prior to the robbery.
‘It’s your fault!’
Despite the woman’s misfortune, netizens were not exactly sympathetic towards her plight and criticised her in the comments.
‘No sense of looking out for her own safety at all.’
‘So panai (smart)….take money (from the bank) but still want to leave the gate wide open and slowly enjoy hanging your clothes. Are you waiting for people to come and snatch the money?’
‘What a genius. Smart people will not feel sorry for her. Those who understand will understand.’
