M’sian Man Robbed Of RM6K & Injured By Robbers Armed With Baseball Bats In Klang

The victim withdrew cash from a Jalan Meru ATM at 2 pm on Friday before the armed assailants struck.

In a brazen act of armed robbery, two individuals wielding a long machete and a baseball bat targeted a man who had just withdrawn money from a bank in Persiaran Pegaga, Klang, on Friday.

The incident, captured on a dashboard camera, has since gone viral on social media, shedding light on the audacious nature of the attack.

The assailants, donned in dark-colored hoodies, approached the victim’s Mercedes Benz at a traffic light intersection.

In a surprising display of aggression, they smashed the car’s windshield using their weapons, attempting to gain access to the money the driver had just withdrawn.

The victim, attempting to escape, faced obstacles due to congested traffic at the intersection.

In the video footage, it is evident that the victim sustained injuries to his fingers during the attack.

The perpetrators, successful in their attempt, managed to snatch a bag belonging to the victim from the right side mirror of the car.

The incident highlights the vulnerability of individuals during broad daylight, even in crowded areas.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, suffered a broken finger bone on his left hand and a scratch on his right arm. He is currently receiving treatment at a nearby private medical center.

Deputy Police Chief of Klang Selatan District, Superintendent Kamalariffin Aman Shah, confirmed the incident, stating that they received a report at 7:20 pm on Saturday, reported Berita Harian.

Injuries and RM6,000 gone

The victim had withdrawn a sum of money from an ATM machine on Jalan Meru at 2 pm on Friday before falling prey to the armed assailants.

The estimated losses incurred by the victim amount to RM6,000, including the stolen laptop and damage to both door mirrors.

Authorities are treating the case under Section 394 of the Penal Code, addressing robbery with injuries.
