The ongoing trial of public figure Ebit Lew, whose real name is Ebit Irawan Ibrahim Lew, 38, has taken a new turn as the ninth witness and complainant shared harrowing details of alleged sexual harassment in court.
The case, which has drawn significant public attention, centres on 11 charges against Ebit Lew, accused of using WhatsApp to send explicit content with the intent to degrade a woman’s dignity.
‘If he missed someone, he should tell his wife‘
According to Utusan Malaysia, the complainant, who recently testified in front of the Magistrate’s Court, described an unsettling 44-minute phone call with Ebit Lew, during which he allegedly pressured her to undress.
“At that time, I remember he (Ebit) said he missed me and wanted me to fulfil his sexual desires.
I told him that if he missed someone, he should tell his wife, but he responded by saying, ‘If you’re missing someone, do you want or not to tell your husband?’
“As usual, he talked about his sexual desires. For me, he humiliated me as a woman by asking me to satisfy his sexual urges. Besides that, he sent a picture of male genitalia,” she said during the cross-examination.
She did not remove her clothing as requested by Ebit
Despite his repeated requests, she stood her ground and refused to comply.
In her testimony, the complainant stated that she did not remove her clothing as requested by Ebit throughout the conversation. However, during that 44-minute period, Ebit also expressed his dissatisfaction with his wife, which prolonged the conversation.
The defense, led by prominent lawyer Datuk Ram Singh, sought to challenge the complainant’s narrative, questioning why she didn’t end the call or avoid discussing sexual matters.
However, the complainant maintained that her decision to stay on the line stemmed from a desire to understand why Ebit Lew had previously sent her hundreds of lewd messages.
“For that call, I agreed because I wanted to know why Ebit Lew sent hundreds of lewd WhatsApp texts. So, I wanted to know,” she said.
Ebit Lew faces charges under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which could result in up to five years in prison, a fine, or both for each offense if convicted. The charges are related to incidents allegedly occurring between March 29 and June 18, 2021, in the Tenom district.
Meanwhile, the prosecution, led by Deputy Public Prosecutors Nor Azizah Mohamad, Zahida Zakaria, and Analia Kamaruddin, aims to establish a clear pattern of harassment that underscores the seriousness of the charges.
Earlier report: Ebit needed sex more than 7 times a day
In an earlier report, it was mentioned that the ninth witness, the complainant, testified that Ebit Lew had confided in him about his excessive sexual desire, needing sex more than seven times a day, and the challenges he faced due to his wife’s inability to keep up with his needs.
The witness, whose identity remains confidential, shared that Ebit had discussed these issues over a phone call, emphasising that his high libido was not due to any medication.
The witness also denied any claims that his testimony was fabricated to tarnish Ebit’s reputation, asserting that Ebit had indeed spoken to him about these matters, including his wife’s awareness of his frequent masturbation, though she was unaware of his communication with others.
